Our events currently help fund 2 projects, but we're always looking to add more projects on!
We have partnered with the Children's charity, Fighting For Lives, to re-launch a project they initiated alongside the Marine Study Club at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The project supported the mental health of the Riverside Kids by taking them out to the beach for a day trip, teaching them about the ocean and the local intertidal biota, as well as simply allowing them the chance to be kids; leaving their worries and anxiety behind and just having a fun day out at the beach to play!
We have recently partnered with "Reforest the Future" in Gambia, a project run by a member of the Women's Initiative Gambia. This endeavor is designed to address critical issues such as land degradation, food insecurity, and poverty within Gambia. The project's objectives include afforestation efforts through tree planting and the provision of education to members of the community. These programs allow them to establish tree nurseries and cultivate edible and indigenous tree species, that contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in the region.
"A night to DIE for" will help financially kick-start the Indonesia outreach project, and we've scheduled in January for initiating the events associated with the Gambia project. We also plan to be hosting punk gigs in the near future to raise money solely for these projects, that's 100% of the proceeds from these gigs will go to sponsoring one or the other project.
